This vehicle is a special built by Land Rover for the BBC (not a conversion by another company)
Land Rover stretched it to 126inch wheelbase (they call it a 130)

It has 4 full width front doors and a side locker door, rear roof light, tall tail door, plus a ladder built in behind a concealed door, and a roof strong enough for a rugby team!

As well as the Hi-Top it has an extra 3inch suspension lift with NEW Pro-Comp Shock absorbers all round.

Length 198 (std.176), Height 90 (std.70) inches

It is all alloy caged construction with fireproof aircraft type slab insulation with wiring conduits built in.
it is just as it came from the BBC, in 5 seat format with aircon front & REAR!,

the 3.5 V8 with NO complex emissions equipment, so this unit will keep going & is highly accessible for that big Safari.

Also fitted Twin fan unit rapid detachable with multi speed operation & Kenlowe automatic & override controls. (viscous fan & cowl junked to leave loads more engine space & more mpg)

This cost as much as a large house when delivered to the BBC in 1985, & would cost a fortune to build today.

painted in the exiting original 2 tone grey BBC colour scheme.

This is a ONE-OFF as seen at the 30th RR anniversary Heritage Centre run
